Disassembly - Part 24 - Shift Linkage

4/4/2007

This is the removal of the "tail" style shift linkage.  Generally pretty straight forward.  One trick to remember is that the rods not only have the thin splints to allow the clamp to grip onto something, but the bolt for the clamp must be removed to pull this apart as the bolt slides through a slot on the rod.  Basically you can't remove the rod without removing the bolt first.

Here is all is laying out before I packed it away.  I had removed the rod going to the transmission when I removed the engine and transmission.  This is all going to be replaced by a "side" style shift linkage.
